Director of Talent Management
Out West Restaurant Group, Inc. is looking to hire a full-time Director of Talent Management with a relentless pursuit of learning who can lead the Company’s Learning & Development strategies that drive operational excellence. This position will report to the VP of Human Resources and will work closely with the entire HR Team in order to ensure best talent sourcing as well as continuation of effective leadership training programs for retention, promotion, and succession planning. In partnership with the HR Team, this individual will be responsible for the Company’s advancement of talent development initiatives. This is a relatively new role for us which means some of the core requirements may continue to evolve. We look forward to this individual taking part in the creation of its evolution. Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has one direct supervisory responsibility. They will also serve as a mentorship role to key members throughout the organization, ensuring constant development in their professional growth preparing them for the next level of their career helping us create a highly effective organization.
Duties/ Responsibilities:

Foster a culture of lifelong learning, development, coaching and growth.

Direct a talent management strategy that provides opportunities for leadership development and advancement to build bench strength and top talent to support the company’s needs.

Plan and execute on the organization’s overall L&D strategy for field leadership

Lead Training Managers to encourage collaboration and uniform training practices throughout the organization.

Work closely with Training Managers and New Managers in Training to ensure success of teachings.

Offer hands-on coaching and guidance to Field Management as needed

Responsible for revising and implementing training and certification programs for restaurant leadership teams.

Develop and introduce new L&D programs on an ongoing basis to support changing strategic objectives as needed.

Anticipate and eliminate future skill gaps

Create tools, resources, and education pieces to make accessible for field leadership

Lead and carry out the talent and performance management process to include quarterly performance reviews, job descriptions, standards of performance, talent development planning, Training Manager feedback, coaching and facilitation of performance management training.

Lead and implement other specific initiatives alongside different members of the Human Resources Team which may include employee value proposition initiatives, staffing & assessment process, retention surveys, diversity & inclusion, and critical talent development initiatives.

Provide recommendations relating to the development and implementation of talent initiatives through solid understanding of relevant HR compliance, trends, and best practices.

Partner with Human Resources Team and other organization leaders to develop relevant talent solutions to support company’s initiatives.

Work closely with HR Director to provide coaching and support to field leadership on performance improvement plans, and career development.

Partner with Franchisor’s Training Team to optimize learning resources for effectiveness

Manage projects/programs to ensure alignment, efficiencies, and synergies with the brand

Conduct stay-interviews to improve management talent retention

Lead New Manager Partner training, coaching and development in order to lay the foundation for success.

Evaluate effectiveness of training and development programs and provide recommendations.

Design and implement strategies to meet specific talent needs of the business

Participate in organizational yearly strategic planning

Ensure talent management initiatives are focused and aligned on improving operational efficiencies and effectiveness
Required Skills/ Abilities:
-
5+ years of multi-unit Restaurant Management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in business management, Human Resources, Organizational Management, Communications, Restaurant Management, or related field.

5+ years of experience spearheading L&D initiatives
-
5+ years developing employee training programs.
-
5+ years’ experience administrating Learning Management Systems.

Broad knowledge in Human Resource areas including Performance Management, Succession Planning, Training & Development & Recruitment.

Strong presentation skills
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Work collaboratively to build consensus and buy-in

Ability to make complex simple, teach, coach, develop others and drive change

Sound business acumen and experience building strategic plans

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Bilingual Spanish English a PLUS
Travel:
Must be able to travel
Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
